China has a 240-hour visa-free transit policy for eligible travelers. It is not a blanket visa waiver.

  • Confirm your passport nationality and arrival/departure ports are eligible.
  • Have a confirmed onward ticket to a third country or region, not simply a return to where you came from.
  • Keep your passport, onward booking, and accommodation details handy for inspection.
Final admission is decided by border authorities. Check the current official rules before you fly.
